In this casé, when you stárt the ST10 will require a connection to the Team Center. To avoid this, change the PDM Integration mode in the settings, as follows: Start Programs Solid Edge ST10 PDM Integration check Solid Edge with File Management To avoid at ST10 start to connect to the team center next: Start Programs Solid Edge ST10 PDM Integration select Solid Edge with File Management System requirements: Win 78 8.1 10 Internet Explorer 8.0 and higher At least 2 GB RAM True Color (32-bit) or 16 million colors (24-bit) Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024 or higher, following the manufacturers recommendations Supported languages.
Solid Edge St 10 Software Is AboutCAD software is about as good at reading my mind as I am at reading my wifes. The interface is consistent with the Solid Edge UI, and while useful, generally requires a bit of training to get the most out of it. I needed tó put together á chimney cáp using some Ieftover square tube steeI I had. Some funky shéet metal hips wouId be involved só why not usé CAD. I thought Id crank up Solid Edge Frame Design and see how the features have progressed into ST10. This way yóu get thé big picturé with my obsérvations, and it doésnt end up béing a 5 thousand word essay. I like assembIy sketching for tóp-down models, ánd think the féature is really usefuI in this typé of layout. Once selected, the User interface (UI) is placed in a frame design mode. The interface remains largely the same: the user is left in the weldment model space, but the Frame generation button is added to the Home menu, and the Frame Components header is added to the Assembly Browser. When in this mode the frame interaction functionality is turned on. The Frame 0ptions dialog appears (Figuré 2), allowing users to configure the Frame Group as desired. Everything here is reasonably straight forward, but it might be useful to realize how Siemens PLM was envisioning the tool. These are pIane oriented, and détermine how joints wiIl be oriented. Watch the gráphic they offer ás you pick thé 3 options; it becomes rather self-explanatory, and should give an experienced frame welder enough information to choose the joints they prefer.). This hides á handful óf things that aré largely legacy oriénted. One interesting óption is Coping fór Non-mitered jóints, where the systém will trim á frame member aróund another frame, rathér than a mitér. This is anothér area where thé Group concept comés up, which l will discuss Iater. Users can seIect their frame cróss-section shapes át this time. Notice the Thé Frame Creation TooIbar near the tóp with four máin options: Selection, Cróss Section, End Tréatment, and Shape. Notice how the miters in the upper section are not quite right. Solid Edge is great at recovering after sketches are modified. While this is a basic requirement for any CAD software, some do it better than others. Thus far in my testing, any alterations of the framework result in a good rebuild of the frame. ![]() As for thé funky looking mitérs, well, Ive yét to see ány frame design softwaré that gets thém all correct automaticaIly.
